New Publications
The shore stations team has recently published two papers in the Journal of Geophysical Research: Oceans. One is the first publication of the complete Scripps Pier temperature time series, and adjusts for the time of day of sample collection, while the second uses the adjusted time series to look at the record breaking marine heatwave of 2018.

Scripps Pier: Then & Now

Explore the Data
Temperature and salinity data from Scripps and other stations can be viewed online or downloaded. Present-day observations include surface and bottom samples collected once per day. Temperature is measured with an electronic thermometer on the pier, while water samples are collected for salinity analysis in the lab.
Annual Reports 2014 - 2018
Annual Reports of temperature and salinity for each year collected at shoreline stations along the California coast from La Jolla to Trinidad. Monthly means and extreme values are tabulated for each month and station. The data are also shown in plots alongside a climatological mean using all data for each station.
